Talež

Talež (725 m) on the northern rim of the Jelovica plateau is Bled’s nearby balcony: from the clearing at the Talež hunters’ lodge the lake, island and castle line up with the Karavanke behind — a view most visitors never see, because they only ever look from the other side.

The nicest route is the loop from Bohinjska Bela or Selo: a good hour of moderate forest climbing, a rest with the view (and home cooking at the lodge on weekends), and a descent on the far side. It works in every season — golden in autumn, and one of the most rewarding easy winter walks around with proper footwear.
