Lake Bled Parking Guide 2026: Prices, Free Options & Tips
Parking is the most common source of stress for Bled visitors — but only for the unprepared. Bled has enough parking; you just need to know where it is, what it costs and when it fills up. Here’s everything you need for 2026.
Main paid car parks
The central Lake car park is the biggest and closest to the promenade — two minutes from the water. It costs €2/hour or €15/day, payable by card or app. The catch: in July and August it’s full before 10 am.
Mlino car park on the southern shore is the pleasant alternative: €1.50/hour, right by the pletna pier for the island and the calm Mlino beach. The 20-minute lakeside walk to the centre is a reward, not a penalty.
Where to park for free
Straža car park below the ski slope is the biggest free option — gravel but organised, a 10-minute walk from the lake. It fills only around midday in peak season, making it ideal for full-day visits. A few free spots also exist near the sports hall on Seliška cesta, with a free summer shuttle to the centre.
A warning: roadside parking outside marked spaces is consistently fined in Bled, and in summer cars get towed. The €15 day rate is far cheaper than the ticket.
Campervans
PZA Bled on Seliška cesta is the only proper campervan stop: €15/night including electricity, water and disposal. Overnighting in regular car parks is prohibited and enforced. With just 40 spaces, arrive before noon in summer.
When car parks fill up
In high season (July–August) the rule is simple: before 9 am you’ll park anywhere; between 10 am and 4 pm the central car park is a lottery. On sunny weekends, queues start on the bypass road. May, June and September are far more relaxed, and in winter parking is never a problem.
Alternative: arrive without a car
Bled is well connected: direct buses from Ljubljana run hourly (75 minutes), and the Bled Jezero railway station on the scenic Bohinj line is a 10-minute walk from the shore. If you’re staying overnight, leave the car at your accommodation — everything in Bled is walkable or cyclable.
Our tip for a perfect day
Arrive by 8.30, park free at Straža or cheaply at Mlino, hike Ojstrica while the light is beautiful, then spend the day at the lake.
