Boat Rental

Renting a wooden rowing boat is the most authentic way to visit Bled Island. Instead of sharing a pletna with twenty passengers, here you’re your own captain — row at your own pace, stop where you like and stay on the island as long as you wish.

The boats take up to five people and are stable enough for complete beginners. The island is ten to fifteen minutes of rowing away; you moor at the island pier, climb the 99 steps to the Church of the Assumption and ring the wishing bell. Legend says a wish made while ringing comes true.

Oars and life jackets for the whole crew are included. The most magical times are early mornings, when the lake is calm, and late afternoons, when the crowds fade and the island glows in the evening light.
