Description
The most beautiful view of Bled Island is from the water. Rent a kayak and paddle at your own pace around the island, past Bled Castle on its cliff and along shores hiding corners that can’t be reached on foot.
Rental takes place at the Mala Zaka Rowing Centre, where stable touring kayaks — singles and doubles — await. Before heading out you receive a short lesson and a life jacket, and a dry bag lets you bring your phone for photos. Paddling around the island takes about an hour; allow two to explore the whole lake.
Kayaking on Lake Bled is a wonderful family activity — children from age 6 can paddle in a double with a parent. The best time is early morning, when the lake is mirror-smooth, or evening, when the castle glows golden.
