About the trail

Trail description

The Završnica valley beneath Stol is a recreation paradise tourists are only starting to discover. Its heart is a green reservoir lake from 1914 — built for the first public hydroelectric plant in the region — now surrounded by meadows, picnic areas and a network of walking and cycling trails.

Easy, family-friendly paths circle the lake and thread the valley; those wanting more find here the trailhead for Stol, the Valvasor hut and the panoramic Žirovnica pasture. In winter a groomed cross-country ski track runs through the valley; in summer a popular terrace café operates by the lake.

Završnica is just 15 minutes from Bled and a perfect afternoon choice when you crave nature without the Bled crowds — tables by the water, mountain air and the Karavanke summits overhead.

Safety information

  • Swimming in the reservoir is not allowed.
  • Cyclists and walkers share the trails — stay alert on busy days.
  • Picnics only at designated spots; fires prohibited elsewhere.
