Planina Zajavornik

Planina Zajavornik (1,292 m) is the most accessible of Pokljuka’s pastures: a broad clearing amid spruce forest, scattered with herders’ huts and still grazed in summer. Its gentleness makes it perfect for families with small children — Pokljuka’s idyll with zero suffering.

From Goreljek the marked forest path reaches the pasture in 40 minutes with barely 50 m of climbing. For more, continue towards Lipanca (~1.5 h) or visit the more famous neighbour, Planina Zajamniki. In winter the trail is magical on snowshoes; in summer combine it with the loop over the Goreljek bog.
