About the restaurant

Description

Arbor proves that “central” needn’t mean “touristy”: in the shopping centre by Bled’s bus station, two minutes from the lake, this kitchen has spent years cooking fresh, locally sourced food — a blend of Slovenian, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on healthy, light plates. House classics include venison goulash with croquettes (€14), homemade cheese-and-spinach ravioli (€12), Carniolan sausage with garlic bread, and generous salad plates piled with fresh vegetables — vegetarians are exceptionally well looked after.

Space is no issue: 55 seats inside and another 50 on the roomy pergola terrace, where homemade lime lemonade cools the summer afternoons and the view slips toward the lake, island and castle. With mains priced €12–14, Arbor is a favourite for an honest lunch free of the “lake tax” — among locals as much as visitors weary of the promenade crowds.

For dessert, don’t miss the sweet ricotta dumplings — skutni štruklji (€7) — or the chocolate soufflé with ice cream; both are popular enough to star on the board outside the entrance.

TripAdvisor: 4.2/5 (Aug 2026).
