About the restaurant

Description

The name tells the story: the house on Cesta svobode is narrow and wedge-shaped like an old flat iron — »peglezn« in local dialect. For decades it has housed one of Bled’s best-loved taverns, specialised in fish: trout from nearby farms, Adriatic sea bass and bream, octopus, shellfish — and for connoisseurs, fish baked in salt, the dish guests praise most often in their reviews.

There are really two spaces: the interior, delightfully crammed with antiques — from flat irons to enamel signs — and the house’s hidden ace, a garden terrace under a green vine pergola, with a stone wall, birdhouses and an atmosphere that makes you feel you’re at your grandmother’s garden table rather than in the middle of touristy Bled. Tables are few, so booking is near-essential in summer (+386 4 574 42 18).

With 2,594 reviews, Peglez’n is statistically the most »tested« restaurant in town (#13 in Bled); guests come back for honest portions and staff who remember faces.

TripAdvisor: 4.2/5, 2,594 reviews (Aug 2026).
