About the experience

Description

The ski slope in Mojstrana is a winter postcard from the past: a small village hill at the entrance to the Vrata valley, where a tow lift serves a few hundred metres of gentle runs on which practically every child of the Upper Sava valley made their first turns.

Slopes and difficulty: gentle, open terrain with no surprises — exactly what children and adult beginners need. Better skiers will ski it out in a minute, but Mojstrana isn’t meant for them; its charm is peace, accessibility and symbolic prices.

For families: there’s space for sledding and snowball fights by the slope, and the village hosts the Slovenian Alpine Museum — an excellent refuge if the weather cancels ski plans.

Operation depends on natural snow, typically on weekends and holidays — check conditions before you go. Mojstrana is 25 minutes from Bled; combine the visit with the frozen Peričnik Waterfall, one of the finest ice cathedrals in the Alps.

Practical: the run measures about 750 metres, and the speciality is night skiing — on weekdays the lift runs 6–9 pm when snow allows, plus daytime hours at weekends (9:00–16:00). The season lasts December to March, snow permitting.
