Bled Carnival (Pust)

Bled, too, chases winter away the Slovenian way: on Carnival Sunday afternoon a carnival parade winds through town, descending via Bledec to the Lake Promenade, where the masks present themselves to the crowd. Live music and dancing follow for children’s and adults’ masks alike — and as carnival tradition demands, the most inventive costumes are rewarded with applause from the whole promenade.

The carnival carries a new theme each year (2026 was dedicated to Valentine’s: »Love Is in the Air«), entry is free and the mood is distinctly family-friendly. If you’re staying in Bled in February, this is the liveliest winter afternoon by the lake — just mind the weather: the event is cancelled in case of rain.
