Description

Summer tobogganing on Straža is Bled’s favourite family thrill: ride the double chairlift to the top of Straža hill directly above the lake, then race a sled down a steel track to the valley — at a speed you control yourself with a single brake lever.

The track: 520 metres with castle-and-lake views

The run follows the former FIS ski slope beside the chairlift: it is 520 metres long, drops 131 vertical metres at an average gradient of 25.2%, and sleds reach up to 40 km/h. The descent itself takes about 90 seconds; a full loop with the chairlift is 10–15 minutes. The views of Bled Castle and the lake along the way make it one of Slovenia’s most scenically placed summer toboggan runs.

Practical tips

The chairlift base is a 10-minute walk from Bled town centre, with parking on site. Children under 6 ride free on an adult’s sled; from age 6 they sled on their own. The run closes in rain and when the track is wet — check conditions before visiting, and come right at opening or after 5 pm to skip the midday queues.
