About the experience

Description

Kamna Gorica, a picturesque blacksmithing village in the Lipnica valley near Radovljica, has what big resorts have long lost: a ski hill where everyone knows everyone. The village tow lift serves a short, gentle slope that has been the first ski classroom for children from surrounding villages for decades.

Slopes and difficulty: a single gentle run, suited exclusively to beginners and the youngest — no steeps, no crowds and no embarrassment if the turns aren’t quite there yet. Anyone past that stage should head to Kranjska Gora or Vogel.

For families: this is skiing as it once was — parents by the slope with a thermos of tea, kids on the lift, and prices accessible to all. Nearby, add a stroll through medieval Radovljica or a visit to Kropa, the cradle of Slovenian nail-forging.

The hill operates with sufficient natural snow, usually on weekends — check conditions before visiting. Kamna Gorica is just a 15-minute drive from Bled.

Practical: the hill has two runs, a tow lift and — surprisingly for a village ski slope — artificial snowmaking, so the season doesn’t depend on nature alone. It operates at weekends, on holidays and during school breaks (9:00–16:00); there’s a sledding run too, and the Radovljica Ski Club runs lessons for the youngest.
