Description

Kranjska Gora is the most reliable and most family-friendly ski choice near Bled. Spread between Vitranc and Podkoren, the resort offers around 20 kilometres of slopes almost fully covered by snowmaking — so skiing runs even in winters when natural snow is scarce.

Slopes and difficulty: the vast majority of runs are wide blues, ranking Kranjska Gora among the friendliest resorts for beginners and children in the Alps. Those wanting more head for the red runs at Podkoren — World Cup racers descend the Zelenci steep for the Vitranc Cup, and the black variant is among Slovenia’s hardest.

For families: Kekec Land by the base station is a fairy-tale kids’ park with magic carpets and characters from the beloved Kekec tales; ski schools, rentals and restaurants are everywhere. In the evenings part of the slopes lights up — night skiing is a tradition here.

Kranjska Gora is a 35-minute drive from Bled; combine the trip with the frozen Peričnik Waterfall or Lake Jasna on the way.
